A unique, 100% non-profit workshop for Ukrainian yoga teachers who want to study yoga therapy and restorative yoga approach to support students with trauma/PTSD.
This workshop is exceptional for many reasons:
A UNIQUE SOURCE OF KNOWLEDGE: Valeria Petrich is a teacher with more than 40 years of experience. She studied with BKS Iyengar in India in the 80’s. As she spent her life practicing, teaching and studying yoga with many great teachers, she became a unique source of knowledge for all of us.
A UNIQUE YOGA APPROACH: We will learn restorative yoga, which supports our mental health, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumas. Valeria’s workshop has been designed to expand teachers’ knowledge and show them how to adjust the level of asanas to the current needs of the students, especially those whose nervous system is overstimulated or out of balance after traumatic events. The positive impact of yoga on the brain and nervous system is already a scientific fact, but not everyone has the same access to it due to traumatic experiences. Restorative yoga will be the best starting point for such students.
A UNIQUE PURPOSE: Valeria’s workshop is 100% non-profit event: Valeria’s mission in Poland and Ukraine is to provide specific knowledge about how yoga and conscious work through the body and breath can support mental health after traumatic events, not only related to the war.
Valeria’s goal as a senior teacher is to convey the idea of restorative yoga to as many teachers as possible, so that they can work in Ukraine with all people who need yoga in a therapeutic dimension.
